had the carpets cleaned today
loving the results
but
moving furniture
left evidence
we are filthy
spots everywhere
reverse spots
clean spots where furniture was
Brian comments
wish it could stay this clean
it will some day
when kids gone
trade off really
clean carpets
no kids
dirty carpets
house filled with dirt...
and laughter
and joy
and excitment
and love

Ahh! Clean Carpets! I'm so jealous! lol!
Why can't we have both clean carpets and kids? Is that one of those Oxymorons? (sp?)
I actually saw those Thanksgiving pictures on myspace. Someone had left them as messages and I saved them to my computer...and put them on my blog!
Keep telling me your school stories so our school will feel more "normal". They DID let us know TWO days before Zack was to get his Big Four and Perfect Attendance awards...unlike the previous school...when Jade called me from school an HOUR before awards wanting to know if we'd all be there!! lol!
i JUST got a handout tonight for kenna's award tomorrow. she got it yesterday. i dont know if its a title 1 thing or a "most parents dont respond so why bother" thing. also why do we have to celebrate awards so often. I dont think we had any award ceremonies growing up. middle school honor roll is the 1st memory i have and that was just in a handout set home.
I didn't know Clovis Elem. was Title I? Do you have bused in kids? We had the awards when I was a kid...but I was in CLOVIS. We just didn't have as many back then. Big Four, Lion of the month (or whatever mascot u were) and Honor roll types. It seems as though Dry Creek had a lot more Character (Counts)of the month, Reader, Writer, student of the month, AR awards, etc... When Leesha and Jade were there, it seems I was there every month for something. Oh...and then each activity has it's own awards...Zack's cross country awards thing is tomorrow. Band, Drama, student counsel blah blah blah...I guess they are trying to "reward" kids for doing well in hopes they'll keep it up. Little do they know that my kids stick the bumperstickers on the couch and sharpen the pencils down to 2 inches the first sharpening, the award paper is usually crunched in the backpack at school before bringing it home and us parents never take them to Tahoe Joes to get their free little kid meal.
Thanks for the card! We put it on our bulletin board in the kitchen because the kids thought it was so cool that you would give us a card like that! :)
